September 8, 2005 –DONATIONS DURING THE “SHELTER FROM THE STORM: A CONCERT FOR THE GULF COAST” CAN BE MADE BY TOLL-FREE PHONE NUMBER OR AMERICAN RED CROSS AND THE SALVATION ARMY WEBSITES
Donations during SHELTER FROM THE STORM: A CONCERT FOR THE GULF COAST, the live, commercial-free, one-hour primetime simulcast this Friday, Sept. 9 (8:00-9:00PM, ET/CT; tape delayed PT/MT) can be made to either the American Red Cross or The Salvation Army via toll-free phone number or the Internet.
As part of an expanded daylong fundraising campaign on the networks, the phone lines will open that morning at 7:00AM/ET during the morning news broadcasts and will remain open through the late night shows and into Saturday morning, Sept. 10.
Donations can also be made immediately through the Red Cross and Salvation Army websites, which will continue to accept donations after the phone lines have closed.

Joel Gallen, who produced the unprecedented “America: A Tribute to Heroes” telethon in September 2001, will executive produce the special.
