Caribbean Cable Co-Op Adds Premier Lifestyle and Entertainment Network to Lineup
SAN DIEGO , CA, July 25, 2005 – What a difference a year can make. One of the rising independent network voices in cable television, WealthTV, is celebrating its first anniversary with a nod to their many achievements. Highlights include the successful launch of their network on satellite in simultaneous digital and high definition feeds, carriage by 30 video providers, completed production on more than 825 hours of original high-definition programming and the build-out and occupancy of its 44,000 square-foot state-of-the-art studio equipped with the latest Sony technology. WealthTV, cable’s premier lifestyle network, is growing strong and is very enthusiastic about its future.
“We wanted to build a network that would have programs about stem cell research; that would offer viewers an international perspective on today’s current events; that’s fun and entertaining and that would speak to an educated audience about the quality of their life and how they can make it better,” said Charles Herring, President, WealthTV.
WealthTV has secured successful carriage from sea to shining sea – from California to Stanford, Maine and throughout the Caribbean, with thirty distribution partners including Charter Communications, Verizon, Armstrong, Wide Open West, Metrocast, US Cable, Champion Broadband and Insight, among others.
WealthTV’s vision and mission is unique, well-defined and tangible in its programming and clearly resonating with its viewers. The “American Dream” to live well and thrive is captured in a wealth of programming that literally spans the globe, capturing a wide-range of interests that appeal to its viewers -- subjects that aren’t found on any other network.
WealthTV’s camera crews venture around the world to varying interests. For example, the series “WEALTH ON HEALTH,” provides viewers with engaging, socially relevant information that inspires thought-provoking conversation. Recently the network devoted a 90-minute special “WEALTH ON HEALTH” to Clayton’s Story – the telling of a two-and-a-half-year-old child who is undergoing stem cell treatment and finding incredible results. One episode, entitled “Heart Matters,” compelled one viewer to write, “This show was packed with so much information, I have recorded it and carry it with me everywhere.”
Other network signature series such as “WOW,” “BEST OF,” and “CHIC” devote each episode to different topics – for example in August, “CHIC” will look at the most luxurious and progressive spas in the country. “BEST OF” appeals to purveyors of luxury and showcases the best of suits, cars, summer activities, destinations and have each proven to be popular with the viewers. “WOW” introduces viewers to unique and highly sought-after affluent communities around the world and most recently featured an episode of “WOW Cannes” highlighting the internationally famous film festival.
“Frankly, I’ve really been impressed with the quality and diversity of their programming. I’ve become a personal fan and enjoy watching the network,” noted Charter Regional VP and GM, Tom Tomkins.
Built from the ground up, WealthTV’s facility is supported by Sony technology and Ascent Media’s turnkey systems. The network’s HD studio features various post-production suites, digital content management and network origination for the network, and is broadcast from its own uplink and master control to PanAmSat's Galaxy 13.
“People say you have to have a passion for your network to succeed in cable television.
